This rare and expressive large Tupilak is a finely hand-carved piece originating from Greenland, dating to the early 20th century. Traditionally created by Inuit artists, Tupilaks were once deeply spiritual objects, believed to hold protective or supernatural powers.

Carved from natural bone, the figure has been shaped entirely by hand using traditional techniques. The organic material gives the sculpture a soft, warm tone, while subtle variations and natural markings highlight its authenticity and age. The hollowed interior, visible from the base, reflects the careful craftsmanship involved in its making.

Measuring 12 cm in height, the figure displays a striking and almost mythical expression, with exaggerated facial features and a compact, stylised body.
