Description

A fine Danish porcelain lidded box produced by Bing & Grøndahl (B&G), Copenhagen. This elegant rectangular piece features a black-and-white portrait of Apollo Brandum, framed within a gold border on a white glazed body with refined gilt detailing.

The reverse bears the official B&G mark with crown and “Kjøbenhavns Porcelain,” along with the inscription “Apollo Teatret – 26 October 1979,” indicating it was issued as a commemorative or limited edition piece. The base is numbered 3330/650, suggesting a numbered edition.

The box has a fitted lid with a small gold-tipped finial and a clean, minimalist form typical of Scandinavian design. The interior is glazed, making it suitable for decorative storage.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition with minor surface wear and light signs of age. Gilding remains largely intact.
