Description

This is a Galileo thermometer, a decorative and functional temperature-measuring device consisting of a glass cylinder filled with liquid and floating glass bulbs. Each bulb carries a small metal tag indicating a temperature (e.g., 24°C, 26°C).

It works by changes in liquid density: the bulbs rise or sink depending on the ambient temperature. The lowest floating bulb at the top indicates the current temperature.
